Well, My thing about the war is that some idiot people do not understand the reason WHY we are going to war. Iv heard people from the UK on IRC saying that only reason why we (the USA) is attacking Iraq is because of their oil (WTF is with that?!). For what I beleave from history class (Dam none-educated bums) that we had a chance to take the oil in the last war if we wanted it. WE DIDN'T!

2nd, Those dam Iraq Leaders are now saying that we hurt 205 people in Friday's attack ... WTH is with that? Where the hell is the proof?! And what I don't beleave is they are saying that WE are the crimanils and we are going to loose the war. First of all, They don't even know how many troops we have headed toward the capital. They got NO idea what they are up agenst.

Bleh, It just pisses me off how stupid some people can be. Thats it for todays rant, come back for more next week. graemlins/dumbjoke.gif

I've had way too many useless arguements concerning this topic. People just have way too little information to be having a critical discussion on this and their facts are not thoroughly based. In any case we're at war now and I don't think we intend to lose. We have people fighting over there, whether you think war is bad or good, at this point if you don't support the troops you are as bad as those that want us to lose.

In any situation war sucks. That's really what it comes down to. But, I think of it this way. I mean, Sadaam would like to kill you, your family, your friends. *shrugs* It's nothing personal, but he really wouldn't have a problem with that.
And as far as people hating us. Yes, we will be hated by those who would like to keep Sadaam in power, or hated for some other reason, but there are enough desperate, hungry, people with missing family memebers who were taken by the Iraqi government who would like a change.
It's quite a scary situation just because I doubt any terrorists would hit any major gov't bases in the U.S. during this war... It's gonna be high populated civilian areas. Anywho, I think you're right when most people are not educated about what's going on. Now, personaly.. I don't think that its Americans' fault that we're uninformed. The media is so wrapped up in its other owners that there's NO WAY that we can get objective coverage. I mean, I heard ABC or NBC or something like that is owned by PG&E, or whatever they're calling themselves now... You think a company that makes weapons are gonna be opposed to the war? Hell no, which means that the media company that is owned by PG&E are going to be for the war and give as much propoganda as they can. Anywho, it's hard to make decisions that involve many many people's lives with no information that no one is willing to give out.
But my heart goes out to all the families who have relatives on the service as well as those soldiers who are in Iraq right now.

Very very sensitive issue that is very complex and views will be dependant on many factors.

For the record, I do not support the war...

Please do not start this into a flame war, allow people, if they wish to, to freely express their views. Although people have strongly expressed that if you don't support the war you're an idiot - a shame, because any chance that this had of a mature discussion has been thrown out the door sad.gif

This is a topic best left for another messageboard....

which other wars? cause this war is being fought worse than what the korean and vietnam war was fought over. this is to get bush rich and put the next president in the biggest debt in history. someone needs to assassinate bush sr. and saddam. i hate consperiousies.(sp?) this was all planned to do this back in 92 when bush sr was in power.

well my views are mixed, by nature i'm somewhat pacifistic in my beliefs but in this case teh war was sadly inevitable as both countries were being governed at this time. It would have happened sooner or later, what worries me is what we'll see when the smoke blows over. From my ideas of all of this
I believe that this war will take six years to be over and done with if drastic/stupid measures are not taken into it [aka- biological warfare, and nukes - 'hey why don't we kill the planet's atmospheres and doom them right alongside ourselves?' " Sure let's get to work bob, how about next friday..."]

Anyway there are so many views on this and none are completly correct or false. Everything is subjective to the media, I hate to say it but when war is being shown during prime-time you have to wonder. Alot of these countries are only getting partial reports of the events and don't quite see where the problem is, being in Canada we don't really get that problem because half our media is american influenced to begin with so we have nearly the same stuff.

Anyways, I don't support Saddam in anyway and am obee kaybee with the US decision to take him out of commission I just hope that there aren't too many more british/ canadian whatever planes being shot down in 'friendly' fire [ because we all know the world's of bad that will place the us in on a world perspective  ]

I can't help these horrid opinions, being the only competent member of my bloody civics class I'm the one who has to talk for half the class during what is supposed to be free speech on recent news... aka- War talk/ politics bs. time. T__T I want this year to end so badly it isn't funny, I wanna go back into my little whole and not watch the evil picture box anymore! or read the paper for anything other then the local one and the obituaries!!!! *sniffles* I don't wanna have to have an opinion or talk about violent bad stuffs or anything like that!!! I'm not patriotic.. I'm not even american, I hate all politics equally.

oh well I can move the stupid tv back to my little bro after this stupid class is over. i hate the entire thing, though my marks not too bad *grins and waves her 95%*Well, it did help balane my evil math mark *sighs and hides 45%*
Bai bai!

Anyways, As of the recent developments on the war, I would suggest to highly support the war now. If you have watched the news yesterday, They are VERY evil people. I mean, Look at what they are doing to our solders! Im not telling anyone to support the war, I will respect everyone's decision. Myself as a American think that they should do to POW's as we do to theirs. I mean, Killing them as they have on public TV is not cool.

i think the war is stupid and pointless... but i don't have any real facts to base it on. i don't watch the news, its all the same information repeated different ways and reporters always bugged me, so i only watch when i have to..

what really bothered me was this; a couple of american soldiers were shown as being charitable and nice when they gave a 'wounded iraqi soldier some water'.. gee, i wonder how he got wounded in the first place!! blow his legs off and give him water!! we're so kind!
*sigh*

i am strongly against this war, tho this isn't really based on facts, just on an opposition to american-ess in general.. wheeh..
