I am going to take the SAT this May and I heard some things about it from some teachers. But what I really want is to hear about it from people that are not payed to say "Some good studying is all you need!". For those of you who have taken it, I have one question. Do I need to train as hard a Goku before some super bad-guy-person arrives, or is some studying each day enough? And if you don't mind, could you tell a little bit about your experience while taking it? Was it scary or did you walk into the room with a fur vest and a tail shooting Kamehamehas? graemlins/smileJapan.gif

Well it's off to school tomorrow, and because of you meanies I don't have anything to expect when the big test comes. For now I just have to study to ace this demon!! :( I wonder if I could do it. You know a wise man once said:
"Do or die" and well, I think I'm gonna die!! graemlins/teardrop.gif

It's more of a strategy based testing than it is anything else. If you learn 'how' to take the test, you will do good.

I don't know if they have the SAT in Canada. The SAT is the ONI of tests. Not only does it require you to answer the questions, it also requires you to answer them in a limited amount of time. Just because you can answer a question doesn't mean you can go in with no problem. Like Wshmaster said, "It's more of a strategy based testing than it is anything else." One of my teachers said once the majority of students that did terrible on the math section of the SAT, did so due to grammar errors. In the math section the questions use complex words such as integers and coefficients. The english portion requires rocket scientist vocabulary (not literally, but you have to have a great vocabulary). Oh yeah, they also make you pay $25 to take it, and if your late you fail the test and lose your money. :( Hopefully that kick through the wall you gave me toughened me up enough to face it. graemlins/teardrop.gif

One think I know they do have in Canada is the college I wish to go to, DIGIPEN the ultimate game developmental university. But they require a lot from you and I lack one requirement which is the completion of AP Caluclus, or Calculus (their the same thing but AP is when you take it in highschool.) As an alternative I can go to Fullsail which just requires the graduation from highschool, all it costs is $33,000 wich will increase after April. You get to keep the laptop they issue you though. :D

Amazing enough when i work at my school i find out, that kids who end up taking their GED for some reason aren't required to take SAT's. graemlins/thinking.gif I guess in some ways that is lucky since the SAT are hard as hell.

Awwwwwwwwwwww!!!! This SAT sounds like fun I want to try it!!! The one thing I specialize in is phrasing. I used to write trick tests up for some of my teachers when i had spare time.
One class always went ahead in their tests and never checked them over properly so he let them take my trick test.
( Damn, I wish i still had it on my comp. you guys would love it! The questions were all ones only I could answer " Write out pi to 113 digits" and "What is the date of the start of the first world war" and " Who is the pilot of of Eva 01?" but at the very end of the test was a final question stating " To get perfect quietly hand in your test blank without any writing other than your name and date on the front, thank you very much." {the test had been 7 pages long})
The SAT sounds like it'd be awesome if only i could get past the * Shudder* math parts of it but if it was definitions of math terms I'd be fine.
If anyone here has trouble with words mabye a good way to study is read the dictionary? I did and it improved my vocabulary and spelling immensly but as I've said a million times I'm a terrible typist plus you can ask anyone who knows me * or maybe not?* After school my usagiitess kicks in and I completly ditz out, because i've used up all my brain power at school and doing homework.
Here we have the grade ten literacy test, I get to yake it next year I'm soo excited it's supposed to take 2 full days to complete!!!
* Happiness overload now going into shock *
... Waaaaah! now everyone knows my horrible secret not only am I an otaku in the pop-culture sense of the word but in the general definition of the word too! ( Otaku - mean geek or nerd in Japanese) (p.s. I really read the dictionary 4 times twice for the websters, one random house and one time through he school brand dictionarys,
plus i'bve read through my english-french one once and my english-Japanese one once, as well as the thesauras's at school they're also pretty neat once you get into them)

hehe.

Standerized tests are fuuuun. I always do *well* on them. graemlins/teardrop.gif Except on the speed/ accuracy ones grrr. I'm not very accurate ^_^

hehe. The only problem is that it tells my parents that I am *smart* and then they expect good grades and crappish like that. *dies*

but i like taking them. 'Tis easy to get the answers, even on the math ones (which are like 50% guess for me ~ especially when they made me take the ACT like five years early). Guessing is easy. ^___^ no penalization or whatever, so I can just guess away.... away... *echoey fade out* *dies from bad dramtics department*

ahh well. SAT sound fun to me to hehe. ^_^
