Don't ever use the word gay again. This is an open forum, you might offend Dimari not to mention the others here that are gay (If there are anymore).

Sorry but u know I didnt mean it like that dont u? The term gay has been changed over the past 100 yrs if u havnt noticed man. Thats not even the original meaning and most ppl know that, it may have been offensive but it was pretty much meant to be. And I wasnt insulting homosexuals in the first place. So if u are a homosexual take no offense to my term because im like one out of umpbillion whpo uses it

Val: good point.

Nyko: regardles of modern connotations, there are some old fashioned thinkers here at times.

Seig: personally i don't mind teh retro look too badly, in small doses. i coudln't watch a full season of Lupin teh Third, but i could jump between lupin and chobits.

when i look at the old retro look, i try to analyse it and plot teh evolution of the artforms. today we still have static hair, but not the hat head that everybody had back then. today the artistry technology is better to be able to convey teh finer details in teh drawings where it was not present in teh past. today the voice actors are somewhat better, or somewhat worse in some cases.

we need to remember that anime evolved out of an imitatioon of american forms, and as such will have deeply rooted american styles in his foundations, liek teh retro look.

the thing with so called 'retro' animation is that theyre like cartoons rather than anime. there's a fine line between anime and cartoons i think, judged on the artist's techniques, but i just think case closed is more of a cartoon. a lot of retro animation borders carefully on the anime/cartoon line, but still being accepted as anime. but some, just arent. sry to the retro fans

and on the whole gay subject, dont persecute nyko like that, we all know that term is used lightly these days. if you think about it, the word 'gay' used to mean happy. the word's meaning has been altered so many times, now it means stupid or dumb, instead of happy or homosexual. it has so many meanings, so i dont think its right to take it into offense. i guess it's just a matter of perspective. sorry if i offend anyone, but thats just my take on the matter. ;)

I also dislike that 70's style animation technique. Although Lupin the 3rd is pretty funny (except for the Castle of Caliostro version, I don't like that) Anyway case closed is in many ways like those American cartoon/animes only in Cased Closed it's tring to be a cartoon while in the American shows they're trying to be anime. Does that make sense? Case Closed (in my opinoin) was meant to seem American . That's why it has the guy who plays soccer and the Sherlok homes theme.
Case Closed doesn't deserve to be the only anime or anime-like show on at night. Oh wait, doesn't Big O come on after it? Speaking of bad animes...
Sorry to you Big O fans out there but that anime wreaks of poor animation and sad jokes
They need to put on some good shows like .hack and kenshin or Excel Saga. By the way, is Trigun still on?

And the hicks and the jocks as well as the prepys bash them at every turn using "gay" and "fag". So when it is used on a forum where people come from everywhere than it gets to be too much.

look dude, that may happen in your city, and thats too bad that shyt like that happens. but on here we come from all over the place, and everyone has different influences. being homosexual isnt a big deal to alot of us, so we dont flip out every time someone uses the word gay. im sorry that it offends you so much but try to understand that not all of us are in an area where people are picked on for that. i think we all need to just let it go. i dont want this to escalate into an issue. its only a big deal if we let it be.

The point that I'm trying to get at is the fact that people are from everywhere on here so people shouldn't use words that will offend others. This includes racist comments as well.

Guys lets not make this a childish arguement on sexual preference. There are many other boards that do that. If ANYONE has a problem with a thread of post, they should e-mail me and the issue will be resolved.

Pointless arguing will only get threads locked. I have the power to edit topic titles and so this shouldn't have even escalated to this point.

I will change the topic title to an appropriate one. If anymore arguements take place, I will be forced to close the thread.
