Thread: I Hate Dis-prooving myself!

1. #1

Post

I've stood steadfastly lately on teh issue of evilness. I have alwys maintained that people are inherently evil. however, in philosophy class today i prooved myself wrong.

i am a beliverof selective predesttinatioon. which means, you are destined to amke achoice. the actual choice is up to your free will, howere, the fact remeains you will make a choice. after that choice is made, yuo must make abnother one. this is an inescapable law. the choices are altered by the past events, and teh events are altered by tehchoices.

now, if you are faced with a choice betwen doing a good act, or a bad act, and yuo choose the good act, then necxt time you ahve to make a choice, if one of teh ioptioms is for good, you will be more leanient towards teh good side. therefore, it can be concluded that if you nurture teh seed of goodness within you you become and stay good. thus making everyone naturally good.

.. i hate this! it makes sense, it makes me look at things in a better light , and all in all has enlivene dmy daily life... yet it goes against everything i have previously believed in. for someone who is used to being a pessimist, optimisim is not a welcome thing. thenagain, i tend to alwys cheer peolpe up... damnit! i'm a good person! damnit!

hmmm.... how about you follow my belief of logic being constantly in motion and circular. I believe that everything can some how lead to another, because everything is determined by our perceptions. Whta we here and now find beautiful may be considered horrendous in the far past or future. It's just how these things work. ^__^

Such as if I were to say I live somewhere just outside of nowhere which is everywhere inside of anywhere here. It would make sense to me but others would just look at me funny. To me this illogical logic makes sense because of my perception of reality.

philosphy is simply the study of taking another approach to analyzing our perceptions, so obviously you've had a run about and then your perception changed slightly to accomadate that.

We are still young we should be able to take these changes if not then the weight of the world would crush us or send us flying off the edges

I also know of a perception change in a friend of mine he is a staltworth believer in normalcy... strange enough he hangs out with me and my older brother. While on a walk with us he watched this distinct old man step onto the bus [the man was wearing a top hat and black dress suit, trust me he was 'distinct'] then he watched the doors close and the bus go down the street. As we walked barely a metre from hte bus stop we saw the old man standing there like a bot taken off the clipping plane, staring straight ahead unmoving. I knew it was the smae man as did my brother but that didn't change the fact that it happened we accepted it and went on. Our friend on the other hand had a breakdown unable to cope with the weirdness.
Once a long time ago someone told me a story, and to this day I'm still living it.

Haste: sorry. i will do my best from here on in to do as you ask with regards to checking m posts.

Sets: what yui say makes sense. all things = circular, therefore, there is no begining, middle or end of teh patterns, however, thare are beginings. as far as teh man, glitches in the matrix. ( inow its cliche, and very passes, but its a belief of mine that we are encased in a world within a world, and if you think about it, it makes sense.

religion is a set of rules put into place by a group of people to gain more powewr over one anothrr under the guise of spiritual awakening.

First off i would like to state that setsuri has now become my official AnimeBB idol , since she has much more insight into the workings of life than most of the people i know. Thank you Sets for being so darn smart. second i must say that it would be a shame for this to go off from philosophy to religion (and if you dont think theres a difference, i dont wanna hear it ). and last but not least i would like to place my two cents upon the pedestal of collective knowledge (aka the internet ): i believe that it is a mixture of what the two points made. namely, a heaping helping of what Setsuri pointed out, and a pinch of what Road_Kill stated. life IS merely what we percieve it to be, yet perception isnt EVERYTHING. Yes, i thought peas were disgusting when i was a child and now i love them , perspective is very important. if you think negative youll only see the negative foresight that you possess, and so on and so forth. but you must still make decisions in life and every decision is a fork in the road. some forks will meet up with the same path again.. some wont. obviously if i choose to shoot myself in the head , the road workers pack up their gear and head home for a long vacation, whereas if i instead choose to shoot someone else in the head , the road continues but it will probably never meet up with the path for the decision to just keep walking instead of doing anything , but i might actually die in a car wreck ten minutes from then if i keep walking . so thats where perspective comes in. it all depends on what you setas your goals in life. if my goal in this scenario was to live the longest out of all my options, i wouldnt choose the first option and a normal person wouldnt choose the second, but if my goal were to liveas long as possible what better place to do it than the big house?
and you see the whole world within a world within a world matrix, men-in-black, thirteenth floor crap is all hollywood, granted it is feasible, and possible.. there is no proof to show that what you are experiencing is a simulation of any type...the brain is the most powerful computer ever devised. it is an organism that actively controls the path of electricity with the processing power of one neuron equalling that of the worlds most powerful supercomputer mainframe. and all of what your brain does, is done on so little electricity. the power it takes to run your computer for an hour is probably equivalent to the ammount of electricity your brain uses in a year or so, with data transfer speeds instantaneous. i doubt very seriously that any type of simulation could ever give you the sensation of life without your brain knowing it.
although on a lighter note it is a fanciful idea, and very intrigueing nonetheless.
thank you for your time... my death awaits me...
